We welcome all types of staining and refinishing
projects including decks, railings, fences exterior
siding (commercial and residential), and interior
millwork finishes.

We employ the same 3 step wood restoration process below
before semi-transparent or transparent stained exterior
siding and/or trim surface applications.
Whether it is weathered wood that needs to be refinished
or new wood that is ready for stain application. We can
turn your deck into the natural wood beauty it is meant
to be.
A new redwood or cedar deck can truly be a thing to behold.
It can beautify your home, increase your recreational
space, and help bring the indoors outside. All exterior
wood surfaces require maintenance, and protection. Wood
decks are no exception. In fact, wood decks are more susceptible
to damage from the forces of nature than painted exterior
wood surfaces. For this reason, timely and comprehensive
deck care can make a difference in how long your deck
lasts and how much of the original beauty and freshness
it retains.
Restoring a Wood Deck Involves Three Steps
1.
Cleaning: Surfaces must be cleaned of anything that
detracts from the wood's natural beauty and anything that
may impede the refinishing process. This includes:
- The aged top layer of the
wood. Removing the top layer of the wood will also remove
any graying of the wood caused by ultra violet radiation.
- Any embedded dirt or debris.
- Any residual finish or
sealers that may impede the wood's ability to absorb new
protective coatings.
For cleaning, we use modern
industrial wood cleaners designed specifically to clean
wood decking gently without damaging it.
2.
Restoration: This involves returning your deck to
its natural color. For this we use penetrating, pigmented,
oil-based products. Pigmented, oil-based products also
have the added ability to preserve your deck and to protect
it from the effects of the sun's ultraviolet rays.
3.
Waterproofing and Sealing: Continuous cycles of wet
and dry cause wood to swell and shrink repeatedly. This
leads to cracking, warping, splitting, and checking. A
timely coat of waterproofing sealer can retard this process
indefinitely. Again, for this we use the top-rated industrial
products.

Ultimate Finishes also offers a
longer lasting advanced system for exterior wood protection
employs the next generation of high tech coating advances
providing exceptional durability, complete tested UV protection,
complete anti-microbial protection including mold/mildew/algae
prevention, bug infestation prevention, and natural wood
appearance. This is the same technology that is used for
finishing interior hardwood flooring to deliver stains
more effectively than any other product with CLP Saturant
Prime. The CLP Saturant Prime cross-links with the substrate
forming a protective barrier that is toxic to mold/mildew
and prevents pest infestation while strengthening the
wood providing an plastic like barrier.
The CLP Sealant cross-links with
the CLP Saturant Prime and the substrate to form a seamless
bond that actually becomes part of the surface it is applied
to. It is highly resistant providing long term protection
for the wood and the coating. The finish is natural giving
the surface a rich look with our wood stains and many
colors available. This does not have a glossy appearance,
but if desired we can coat with a high gloss or satin
top coat. This product contains a high tech cure system
that works in multiple stages providing exceptional durability
and protection.
This system is extremely long-lasting
and comes with a ten year manufacturer
warranty. Most other leading premium quality
stains and sealers offer no more than a 3-4 year warranty
for deck surfaces.

1.
Remove the old finish - For a new finish to penetrate
into the wood and protect it. The old finish must be removed.
We use premium quality strippers to help achieve this.
Plants and shrubs are always protected.
2.
Washing the wood - We use a pressure washer to get
the wood wet and remove loose debris. Then we use a super
soap wood restorer to remove and destroy mildew stains
and spores and to help restore wood to its natural state.
3.
Re-nailing - We sink all risen nails and re-nail all
loose boards as needed.
4.
Sanding - If sanding is needed we would do it on this
step. Most of the time sanding is not needed especially
on siding and fences. Decks usually do not need complete
sanding unless the wood is pitted from decay.
5.
Stain and Sealing - After allowing the wood to dry
out well. The first application step is to apply the CLP
Saturant Prime. The CLP Saturant Prime absorbs into the
surface of the wood and cross-links with the cellulose.
It will deliver stain into the wood fibers. It creates
a protective barrier in the substrate that is toxic to
mold/mildew and prevents bug infestation while strengthening
the wood. It also serves as an agent to draw the sealant
into the wood to cross-link with the wood. ***Available
in 5 colors: Light Oak, Golden Oak, Cedar, Redwood, and
Walnut.
The second step is to
apply CLP Sealant. The CLP Sealant cross-links
with the surface of the wood resulting in a
continuous film that is water repellant, mold
and mildew resistant, and actually becomes part
of the wood surface. CLP Sealant has a natural
appearance enhancing the beauty of the wood.
The Ultimate advanced wood protection system
comes with an manufacturer 10
year warranty.
